Those were some good times.
The seconds I caught myself staring at you just thinking to myself how lucky I was just to be in your presence,
the minutes where we’d act like friends knowing that deep down inside something was there,
the hours you made the sound of my heartbeat ring through my ears,
the days I thought I had you.
Those were some good times.
Since then I’ve been wondering,
wondering what it’d be like if we kept it up,
if we could have ever been a “we”.
But now, I know now,
that I can’t spend my life wondering,
I have my own & you also with yours,
I am happy now.
Knowing that I can live my life with the memories I have,
with no need to wonder what could have been,
I don’t need any of that,
I have come to senses with myself.
Everything is what it is for a reason.
I cherish our friendship.
